Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) in joint venture (JV) with VCCL has been awarded Rs 367.72 crore contract by the Northeast Frontier Railway to construct a safety tunnel between Tupul and Imphal in Manipur state. This is part of the new railway line project being constructed between Jiribam and Imphal of Northeast Frontier Railway. The project is to be completed in four years.

Railways building mega structures in Manipur

Indian Railways (IR) has been working strong and steady to connect the North-East with the rest of India, thereby laying the foundation for greater progress in the region. The 111 km-long Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal railway line is one of the many initiatives being undertaken by IR in the region.

Manipur govt mulls to widen all key roads in state

The Manipur government has sent a proposal to the Union government for upgradation of Jiribam-Churachandpur Road and widen all important roads in the state, the State Works Minister Kh Ratankumar said. The Minister was speaking as chief guest at a foundation laying ceremony for an RCC Bridge which is to be constructed over Khuga River to connect Lamjangphai and Thingchom in Churachandpur district on June 6.
